4th LBRN-LONI Scientific Computing Bootcamp

Scientific computing is becoming more ubiquitous for all types of research areas. Skills and knowledge that are necessary to take full advantage of the power of computing, however, are often inadequately present in both curricular and extracurricular training. The purpose of this workshop is, by both presentation and hands-on experiences, to help attendants understand the usage of popular scientific computing programming tools and prepare for their future computational study and research career.

We are happy to announce that the 19th LBRN Annual Meeting will be held on Friday-Saturday virtually online February 12-13, 2021.

LBRN-Webinar-Genomic Analysis of SARS-COV-2

Genomic Analysis of SARS-COV-2: New Variants and the Vaccine Rollout

This webinar will introduce the upcoming graduate Bioinformatics for Infectious Diseases Course at LSU that covers topics, tools and resources developed for infectious disease research.

LBRN Omics LOGIC Bioinformatics Training

Omics LOGIC Bioinformatics Training has been developed by Pine Biotech to give students access to basic introductory to advanced analytical bioinformatics courses. The training is available through an online platform. The training is modeled after undergraduate and graduate course topics at LSU, Georgetown University Medical Center and other universities and was designed by faculty and researchers at the Tauber Bioinformatics Research Center.

Graduate Course on Bioinformatics for Infectious Diseases

Offered by the Department of Pathobiological Sciences (PBS), LSU School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM), Spring, 2021 session graduate course. This is available to LBRN and other students with approval. See full story details below.

Pine Biotech Webinar on Bioinformatics for Infectious Disease

Due to Hurricane Zeta, the new event date/time is November 6, 2020, 1:00pm from October 30th, 2020 1:00pm.

We welcome you to join us for a free webinar on bioinformatics for Infectious Diseases. In this session, we will discuss how genomic data and bioinformatics are being used to study viral and bacterial pathogens and play a major role in the current biomedical research around the COVID-19 pandemic. The webinar is designed for students and faculty interested in methods of analysis, including RNA and DNA sequencing data.
