Louisiana Access Grid Network

Access Grid nodes across the state, funded by the IDeA program, enables research groups at different sites in Louisiana to interact.

Definition: The Access GridŽ is an ensemble of resources including multimedia large-format displays, presentation and interactive environments, and interfaces to Grid middleware and to visualization environments. These resources are used to support group-to-group interactions across the Grid. This quote taken from and for more information about the Access Grid go to the Access Grid Website.

LBRN has been instrumental in the building of the Access Grid infrastructure in the state of Louisiana with the BRIN and INBRE grants for which we thankfully acknowledge: NIH grant P20RR016456 from the NCRR. Each of the LBRN partner sites and sites with faculty mentors have an Access Grid Node to enhance connectivity. Extensive and regular use, as well as dedication from the LONI networking group for multicast networking across the state, has made this successful. All of LBRN's partner sites currently have operational Access Grid node(s). There are now several non-LBRN sites joining this network, such as UNO and ULL sites.
