LBRN Storage Infrastructure

LBRN Storage Infrastructure

LBRN storage nodes across the state, funded by INBRE, enables research groups at different sites in Louisiana to interact with large amounts of data.

LBRN deployment of storage nodes on LONI for the use of the LBRN projects is in progress and now is online with Petashare and now online with Petashare. The LBRN systems are managed by LONI/HPC out of LSU.

Storage node locations:

  • LSU - part of clustered storage (LONI/Petashare)
  • LSUHSC-NO - Independent/Petashare
  • LSU Shreveport - Independent/Petashare
  • Louisiana Tech University - part of clustered storage (LONI/Petashare)
  • *Southern University - Independent/future Petashare
  • *University of Louisiana at Monroe - Independent/future Petashare

Access to these nodes are through the LONI infrastructure via Petashare for LBRN Researchers. Currently these are Data Direct Network storage systems.

Storage information: Initially at each site are 11TB raw or 7.2TB formatted capacity. These sites have much room for growth, you can consider adding storage by working with John Q. to purchase more disk (JBoDs) for the appropriate site if you have some funding to do so.

How LBRN researchers can get access:

Apply for a Petashare allocation - Petashare currently has a word document with information/instructions on their site here.

If you have questions or want some clarifications, please let me know.
